That's a wrap for 2025 Climate, Life Cycles and Listening

As 2025 comes to an end, I’ve been taking a moment to reflect on the year — a year that felt very much like the closing of a chapter. In numerology, it was a nine year, symbolising completion, and that theme showed up across my work and personal life.
A Year of Closing Cycles
In my role supporting finance and business leaders through climate action, the tension has been real: the urgency of reducing climate impact versus the reality of limited time, resources, and readiness. Still, this year brought progress, clarity, and meaningful steps toward stronger climate compliance and strategy.
Personally, I’m wrapping up my seventh seven-year life cycle and preparing for the next. Becoming a grandmother added a beautiful layer of reflection and grounded wisdom to this transition.
Growing Climate Capability in Business
A major focus this year was developing mandated climate reporting training. I delivered Day 1 of our new program in Sydney to a group of non-finance professionals — a reminder that climate reporting is becoming everyone’s responsibility, not just finance.
Looking ahead, I’m exploring ways to make this training accessible globally through recorded, self-paced learning.
Meaningful Work in PNG
Future Value also continued impactful work in Papua New Guinea — from building a renewable energy grid for 32 villages to shaping several community-based carbon projects now out for funding.
Looking Toward 2026
2026 marks a new nine-year cycle, guided by three themes that truly resonate with me:
Innovation. Leadership. Bold Action.
I’ll be expanding sector-specific training, continuing work on our Authentic Sustainability Measurement tool, and deepening partnerships with organisations ready to move beyond compliance.
Closing the Year with Gratitude
Before the next chapter begins, it’s time to slow down for Christmas, family, and summer. I’m grateful for your engagement and support throughout 2025, and I look forward to more meaningful work together in 2026.
